Town Trail Restoration Plan for the Town of Longmeadow

One of the trails at the Fannie Stebbins Refuge in Longmeadow

CW recently completed a comprehensive mapping and assessment of the many miles of public trails in Longmeadow. The Town has six principal parks and refuges – the Fannie Stebbins Refuge, Laurel Park, Bliss Park, Turner Park, the Wolf Hollow Conservation Area, and the Gasek Farm complex – all of which have attractive trail networks. The CW trail plan recommends a combination of new bridging over wet areas, erosion control where it is needed, repair of damaged or overgrown trail sections, and development of a comprehensive way-finding system and interpretive and directional signage program. The plan also includes maps of potential accessible trail routes at several of the conservation parcels for the Town’s future consideration.
